Admission process
The admission process is quite transparent. Admission to the program requires shortlisting of students on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam. Even students with degrees in related subjects from IIMs can apply without an entrance exam. There is also a faculty interview.
The applicants should be Master’s degree holders with a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST candidates). Candidates with an engineering degree or any four-year bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 75% marks (70% marks for SC/ST candidates) are eligible. Candidates with professional qualifications like CA, ICWA and CS with a minimum of 55% marks along with a BCom degree are eligible. Postgraduate diploma courses in management from IIMs or PGP courses offered by IIM Lucknow with a minimum CGPA of 6 are eligible. Candidates should possess a minimum of 55% marks from class X onwards.
Its PhD program offers research opportunities in the areas of Agri-Business Management, Finance, Marketing, HRM, Operations, Strategy, Economics, IT Systems, Sustainability, Decision Sciences and Communication. Scholars will be continuously guided by globally recognised faculty members.
Commenting on the program, Pushpendra Priyadarshi, Chairperson of the Doctoral Program, said that at IIM Lucknow, the endeavour is to shape future academicians through intense coursework, high-quality research, strong mentorship and global academic exposure.
IIML also extends strong research support through initiatives such as 99 Moonshots that include publication incentives, conference funding and research grants. Scholars are provided with semi-furnished housing, a monthly stipend, contingency grants, a one-time laptop grant and travel support for conferences. Other additional support includes funding for data collection, case writing, professional memberships and family health insurance reimbursement.
