IIM Kozhikode welcomes 51% women students in the MBA batch 2025–27

This is the fourth instance in the last decade that IIM Kozhikode has admitted more women than men to its flagship MBA program. In the Post Graduate Program (PGP-29) alone 55% of the 489 students are women a significant rise in comparison to the national CAT 2024 applicant base where women constituted only 36%.

The new batch consists of students for three important programs: the flagship Post Graduate Program (PGP), the Post Graduate Program in Finance (PGP-Fin) and the Post Graduate Program in Liberal Studies and Management (PGP-LSM). Besides these, IIMK also welcomed 31 research scholars into the 19th batch of its Fellow Program in Management (FPM) which is the highest-ever intake in its doctoral program.

The new PGP batch presents a well-balanced class mix with 53% students hailing from non-engineering streams. Geographically speaking, Delhi, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh contribute 35% towards the batch size and 23 students belong to Kerala the state of residence of the campus. This year’s batch also includes seven international students from the various countries like the UK, USA, UAE and Canada.

PGP-Finance batch (PGP-Fin 06) comprises 49 students with half coming from engineering and half from non-engineering backgrounds. The mean age is approximately 25.4 years and the cohort has an average work experience of 2.5 years.

In the PGP-LSM batch of PGP-LSM 06 60% of the 48 students are females  and 96% are from non-engineering backgrounds referring to the increasing need for liberal arts and management integration.

As part of the inauguration of the new academic year, IIM Kozhikode organised a week-long orientation program that included sessions with business leaders, government officials, alumni and faculty. Normal academic classes for the fresh batches will start from June 30, 2025.
