IIM Kozhikode Opens PhD Admissions for 2026 with Stipends, Tuition Waivers and Research Support

IIM Kozhikode has started accepting applications for its 2026 PhD and Doctoral Program in Management. Both academics and professionals in the industry are welcome to apply to the Institute. Interested candidates can apply through the online portal which will be available until 23 Jan.

IIM Kozhikode Opens PhD Admissions for 2026 with Stipends, Tuition Waivers and Research Support

Selected students in the DPM will receive a monthly stipend starting at ₹42000 which will increase to ₹5 lakh over time. Additionally they won’t have to pay any tuition fees. The program also provides financial support for research and conferences with up to ₹5 lakhs available for these activities.

The doctoral program includes coursework, a qualifying exam, seminars on thesis proposals and pre-submission and a final defense. Students will receive continuous mentorship from faculty and work in a research focused environment. There are also rewards for those who publish excellent research.

The director of IIM Kozhikode Debashis Chatterjee explained that the program is designed to train scholars who can create valuable knowledge and contribute to shaping future institutions.

The selection process happens in three stages an initial screening, a written academic skills test, an orientation session and a final discussion about the applicant’s area of interest. This process ensures that only those suited for deep academic research are chosen.

IIM Kozhikode highlighted that the program is meant to help scholars focus on practical industry and policy issues with twelve scholars already having graduated from this pathway.

PhD candidates can focus on a variety of areas including decision sciences, operations management, economics, finance, accounting, humanities in management, information systems, marketing, organisational behavior, human resources and strategic management.
