IIM Jammu Starts Second General Management program for NHPC Managers

IIM Jammu has launched the second batch of its General Management program for middle level managers of NHPC Limited. The program began on 17 November 2025 at the Vedanta MDP Centre on the Jagti Campus. It is being led by Professor B. S. Sahay who is the Director of IIM Jammu.

IIM Jammu Starts Second General Management program for NHPC Managers

This program is created specially for NHPC one of India’s major hydropower organisations. Its aim is to help NHPC managers improve their leadership skills, strategic thinking and overall management abilities. It also supports NHPC’s goal of building strong professionals who can contribute to India’s energy sector.

The initiative highlights IIM Jammu’s focus on offering strong executive education through its Executive Education and Consultancy wing. Twenty NHPC professionals from different parts of the country are part of this batch bringing valuable experience and real-world insights to the classroom.

The inaugural event was attended by Professor Nitin Upadhyay who is the Dean Academics, Professor Sanjeev Pathak the Chairperson of EE&C, Professor Rajesh Sikka and Dr. Jaganth G who are also the program directors. The day began with participant registration and a campus tour where the group visited smart classrooms, the Vedanta Executive Education Block and the Nalanda Library.

The lamp-lighting ceremony marked the official start of the program followed by the National Anthem and a group photo.

The one-week program includes interactive sessions with IIM Jammu faculty using case studies, simulations and leadership activities to help participants strengthen their management abilities.

Organised by the EE&C team the program shows IIM Jammu’s strong commitment to building future-ready leaders for India’s public sector through close industry academia collaboration.
