IIM Jammu Recognises Natrang Artists for Stage Excellence

The felicitation ceremony was held at Rangmandapam on the IIM Jammu campus and underlined the importance of theatre for creative learning and social awareness.
The team presented a strong and engaging performance of the Natrang, which got repeated applause. The show concluded with a standing ovation from the audience in attendance. The enthusiasm, discipline, and emotional expressions of the young artists radiated amidst the packed hall. The performance created an energetic and inspirational ambience at the venue.
The presentation profiled Natrang's long innings in modern theatre and youth participation. The show at IIM Jammu was part of a special six-performance series going on at different venues. This series is organised ahead of Natrang's participation in an upcoming international theatre festival.
The series is supported by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, the North Zone Cultural Centre and the Jal Jeevan Mission, Jammu and Kashmir. The final performance will be held on February 9, 2026, at 5:00 pm at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu.
On this occasion, the contribution of Padma Shri Balwant Thakur in popularising theatre at IIM Jammu was specially acknowledged. The invaluable contribution of Shri Balwant Thakur has enabled the continuous integration of Theatre activities into the Academic & Cultural canvas of the Institute. This has nurtured creativity, empathy, and social awareness among students.
Prof. B. S. Sahay was specially thanked for his continuous patronage for cultural and theatre activities at IIM Jammu. Padma Shri Balwant Thakur thanked Prof. Sahay for his belief in and commitment towards the performing arts.
The artists who were honoured included Aanandita Dutt, Samaeira Raina, Dwijesh Dutta, Aadhwika Gupta, Mahira Gupta, Anmol Sharma, Advik Sharma, Ruhaan Chandan, Kavish Sharma, Rishaan Marhatta, Suhani Sareen, Priyal Ashok Gupta, Supria Gorka, Aarohi Singh, Aaradhaya Thakur, Sachetas Anand, Araiya Shan and Gautam Bhagat.
The music for the play was composed by Suraj Singh, with rhythm support from Rakesh Kumar. Neeraj Kant, Pawan Verma and Kananpreet Kaur were also honoured for their valuable contributions.
