The 3 day session aims to acclimatise the new batch and expose them to academic rigor, discipline and all around development. The opening ceremony was attended by IIM Jammu director BS Sahay.

Sahay congratulated the students on their admittance to the IPM program emphasising the fierce competition and enormous increase in applicants.

He told them that the coming five years won't be easy and posed a question to them about what they really want to do in life if they want to create jobs or be job seekers.

He highlighted the necessity of skill creation, innovation and entrepreneurship, pointing to India's sudden increase of startups and the opportunity offered by NEP 2020. He declared that as India emerges as a global economic and information leader during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary leadership, IIM Jammu is committed to fostering leaders who personify values, ethics, inclusivity and imagination.
