The five-day residential programme is exclusively designed for existing entrepreneurs belonging to different industries. The inaugural edition of this event was attended by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean (Faculty & Research) and Dr Mahesh Gadekar and Dr Muqbil Burhan, Programme Directors from IIM Jammu.

While addressing the participants, Prof. Jabir Ali spoke about his observations on IIM Jammu’s academia. He mentioned that IIM Jammu puts significant emphasis on promoting entrepreneurial ventures. He also added that incubation projects in Jammu and Kashmir were part of IIM Jammu. Another point that he mentioned was that entrepreneurship is part of the curriculum at IIM Jammu. He also mentioned that IIM Jammu is closely linked with the MSME department and the Ministry of Skill Development.

Dr Mahesh Gadekar explained that the program is undertaken under the guidance of the Development Commissioner, MSME and is totally funded by the Indian Government. He informed that the program attempts to support existing entrepreneurs by facilitating an improvement in the managerial, strategic and operating skills of these entrepreneurs. He pointed out the significance of the MSMEs for the Indian economy and made reference to initiatives by the Indian government as part of the budget to boost the MSMEs. The session was closed with a vote of thanks given by Dr Muqbil Burhan.

The program has been designed for MSMEs, entrepreneurs, promoters and executives. It has been designed keeping in mind the theme, Capacity to Competitiveness: Strategise, Sustain and Scale. The program has been organised by the Centre for Small Business Development Unit of IIM Jammu and it has been implemented by the Executive Education and Consultancy team of IIM Jammu.
