The 15-day leadership training program, involving 25 teachers from various parts of the nation, was held for the development of leadership skills among teachers of all levels, and the result was the production of potential leaders prepared to bring about a generation shift.

Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu, inaugurated the event. Other dignitaries who attended the inauguration ceremony include Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson – EE&C, IIM Jammu; Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics and Program Director and Dr. Ramswarup Bhaskar.

In his address, Prof. Jabir Ali conveyed that education is something beyond the walls of the classroom and reaches knowledge production, development in thought process, and key takeaway with long-term effect beyond the Institute.

The training is not conventional, added Professor Sanjeev Pathak. The purpose is to enhance individual leadership qualities and enhance thinking, thereby bringing about a major transformation, he said.

The new program, according to Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, will deal with important areas like the definition of leadership, working with different generations, team dynamics, culture in institutions and the financial scenario in the higher education sector.

Dr. Ramswarup Bhaskar, IIM Jammu's Program Director, proposed the vote of thanks. The five days will be allocated towards getting skills through lectures, workshops, discussions, case studies, role plays and exercises that enable the concepts learned to be applied. The training program is managed and implemented by the Executive Education & Consultancy Office of IIM Jammu.
