IIM Jammu Hosts Academic Visit & Campus Tour for School Students

The Army Public School delegation comprised 46 students from Classes XI and XII, accompanied by Ms Jaspreet Kaur and Ms Shivali Kumati. Gurukul Public Higher Secondary School, Reasi, was represented by 26 students from Classes XI and XII led by Chairman and Principal Shri Jawahar Pandita, along with Ms Pratibha Jamwal, Mr Vishal Kumar, and other faculty members.
The program began with a warm reception at IIM Jammu’s iconic Clock Tower, followed by a guided campus walk. Students explored key facilities such as the Grand Reception Area, Mandapam Auditorium, Vedanta MDP Block, smart classrooms, the Nalanda Library, Rangmanch Amphitheatre and Jalpan Kendra, gaining first hand exposure to the institute’s learning environment.
During the academic interaction program, students were introduced to academic offerings and Centres of Excellence of IIM Jammu, emphasising innovation and research. The Nalanda Library tour showcased that even in terms of technology and learning facilities, such as Bloomberg Terminals for financial analysis, the institute's global standards of education are maintained.
The delegation was shown audio visual exhibits about the track record of IIM Jammu since its inception in 2016 showcasing their rapid academic advancements and their efforts towards building the nation. The delegation was also provided with access to the official website and social networking sites of the institute to keep them updated about admission notifications, scholarships and student activities.
The participants were made aware of the IIM Jammu's two international accreditations in its MBA program, making it one of the first five IIMs in India and also making it unique as it is the only second and third generation IIM to be accorded this status. The institute is also on its way to getting AACSB accreditation. The institute will then be amongst the first Triple Crown Accredited B schools globally. The event concluded with an interaction session, wherein students were asked about available opportunities in management, entrepreneurship, finance, analytics and leadership and the community outreach programmes conducted by IIM Jammu in the Himalayan region. The event was organised by the Media and Publication Division of IIM Jammu.
