IIM Jammu Conducts NTPC Trek Leadership MDP

The inaugural ceremony was marked by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean (Faculty and Research), in the presence of Prof. Rajesh Sikka and Programme Directors Dr. Mahesh Gadekar and Dr. Naveen Goyal. About 45 officials from NTPC Limited across India are a part of this MDP.

Prof. Jabir Ali said that IIM Jammu and NTPC have been associated with many training programs and also with other PSUs. He said that the trekking component, including a visit to the Vaishno Devi Temple, is designed to help participants develop reflection, resilience and self-awareness.

Prof. Rajesh Sikka welcomed the participants and encouraged them to share their trekking experiences. Many participants stated that the trekking experience made them feel energetic. He emphasized that the programme helps in networking and professional bonding and mentioned the executive education initiatives at IIM Jammu.

Dr. Mahesh Gadekar introduced the MDP as a transformational leadership programme. He stated that the next three days would involve intensive sessions by the faculty, which would combine management concepts with trekking-based learning. Dr. Naveen Goyal gave the vote of thanks.

The programme indicates that IIM Jammu is committed to innovative executive education that combines management learning, experiential learning and personal development in the Himalayan context.
