IIM Jammu and IIM Kozhikode Launch Application for Yuva Sangam Phase-4

The program, which is run by the Department of Higher Education enables partnered States and Union Territories to engage in organised exposure tours. Through these travels, participants learn about India's varied development projects, cultural customs and social environments while promoting respect for one another and national unity.

Youth from Kerala and Lakshadweep between the ages of eighteen to thirty are invited to participate in the program and learn about the rich customs, development projects and educational environments of the host areas. For five to seven days, chosen participants will go on educational and cultural trips. Participants will interact with local people, groups and stakeholders throughout the program, giving them an initial look at the host region's sociocultural and developmental environment.

Regarding the initiative, B. S. Sahay stated that by giving young people an initial look at India's cultural variety, these programs are essential to promoting national integration. He underlined that Yuva Sangam offers young people a life-changing opportunity to engage with other communities, value regional variety and create deep connections across the nation.

He added that the project complies with Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat and is in favor of the 2020 National Education Policy goals, which place a heavy focus on youth development, experiential learning and cultural awareness.

Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions and Culture), Pragati (Development and Governance), Paraspar Sampark (People-to-People Connect) and Prodyogiki (Technology and Innovation) are the five main pillars that form the framework of the program.

Shyam Narayan Lal Chairperson of Anandam at IIM Jammu-Neeraj Soni will oversee the project and the Center for Happiness and Media & Publication will act as the program's Nodal Officer.
