IIM Indore Releases Admission Requirements for the Postgraduate Program Batch of 2026–2028

The candidates will have to appear for the CAT 2025 exam and achieve at least the prescribed minimum sectional and overall percentage cut-off. The minimum total percentage for General and EWS category applicants is 90, with each portion being at least 80 percent.  Those who are NC-OBC must have an overall score of 80 percent, whilst those who are SC, ST or PWD must have scores of 60, 45 and 45 percent, respectively.

Shortlisting Process

Class 12 grades, accounting for 25% of the total, are accorded a higher weightage than the marks obtained in Class 10, at 10%. The CAT sectional scores will contribute 55% toward the final shortlisting score. Work experience will be weighted at 3% and diversity adds 7 points. The shortlisted candidates will be informed about their interviews in January 2026.

Interview Details

In Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata and Mumbai, the majority of interviews will take place offline.  However, depending on the situation the interview can take place online.

Final Selection Criteria

With 45% of the final score, the personal interview will get the highest weight. The remaining weight will go to CAT sectional scores at 40 percent, with Class 10 and 12 grades at 5 percent each. There will be an additional 5 points for diversity. IIM Indore has underlined that meeting the eligibility or cut off criteria is no guarantee for an interview. A candidate must meet minimum performance criteria in every PI metric; otherwise, they will be rejected. Reservations and Special Cases The Institute will apply the reservation policy of the Government of India, comprising 27% seats for NC-OBC, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST up to 10% for EWS and 5% for PwD students. Every candidate, irrespective of category, has to meet the minimum performance requirement. Candidates whose Class 10 or 12 marks were affected by the COVID-19 board assessment policies will have their score weightage assigned proportionately between CAT sectional scores and available board marks. IIM Indore has warned that adjustments in the admission process may be made if government or institutional directions change.
