IIM Calcutta Registers 100% Summer Placements for MBA 2025 Batch - Records Slight Decline in Offers and Stipend

This year’s placement process was conducted in a hybrid mode with 183 recruiters participating across different sectors like consulting, finance, FMCG, technology, manufacturing and pharma. Last year the institute saw 175 recruiters.
In 2025 the median monthly stipend stood at ₹2 lakh while the average stipend that the students received stood at ₹1.85 lakh. That is a modest reduction from the previous year when the average stipend was ₹1.89 lakh. The highest overseas offer was ₹6 lakh per month while the highest local stipend was ₹4.5 lakh up from ₹3.67 lakh the previous year. The top 5% of students received stipends averaging ₹3.4 lakh per month.
Ritu Mehta who is the Chairperson of Placement Activities at IIM Calcutta said the batch performed exceptionally well continuing the institute’s record of strong placements. She thanked recruiters for their trust and highlighted IIM Calcutta’s efforts to maintain a smooth and rewarding placement process for both students and employers.
Several domestic and international companies participated including many first-time recruiters. The institute credited its large alumni network and cluster-cohort placement model which includes a “dream offer” policy for ensuring a strong match between students and recruiters.
In comparison, IIM Bangalore recently concluded its summer placements for the 2025–27 cohort with 601 students receiving offers from 137 firms mostly in consulting, investment banking and product management.
