IIM Bodhgaya Announces 24 Political Leaders from Sri Lanka
Members of Parliament, local government councillors, youth leaders and legal experts make up Sri Lanka's delegation. Fifteen political party representatives took part. Three representatives from the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna and Samagi Jana Balawegaya, two from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi and four from the National People's Power were present. Ten additional national and regional parties each had one representative. The batch includes 20 male and 4 female volunteers from among the Sinhalese, Tamil and Muslim populations, showcasing the nation's political and cultural diversity.
Vinita Sahay, the director of IIM-Bodh Gaya, said that this is more than a sharing of knowledge; it is also the creation of democratic kinship. When future South Asian leaders gather at IIM-Bodh Gaya, they are laying the foundation for a region marked by cooperation, understanding and mutual progress.
