IIM Bodh Gaya and the Bihar government Collaborated to Oversee Training for the Chief Minister's Fellowship Program

The agreement inked by BPSMS would facilitate funding for the recruitment and training of 121 young Bihar professionals who will serve as fellows at state, divisional, district and municipal levels. Their areas of responsibilities would include policy creation, development planning, and administrative decision-making from district magistrates to the chief minister's office.

IIM Bodh Gaya will design and deliver an academic program comprising selection support, classroom instruction, field-immersion courses, mentorship and regular performance assessments. The state government will manage deployment logistics, administrative procedures and financial support for the fellows.

The initiative is part of Bihar's effort to develop a new cadre of governance professionals who can improve the delivery of public services, implementation of policies and foster innovation across various government ministries.

IIM Bodh Gaya has previously trained officers from the Bihar Administrative Service and the Bihar Police Service in programs related to public leadership, decision making and citizen centric governance. These initiatives have helped workers operating in water resources, transportation, planning and panchayati raj areas.

IIM Bodh Gaya Director Dr. Vinita Sahay said that the collaborative initiative showcased the commitment of the institute towards national development and termed the plan a stride toward Viksit Bharat and Viksit Bihar. The fellowship, she asserted, will empower young professionals with the requisite analytical and leadership competencies to contribute towards the state's development aspiration and enhance governance outcomes.
