IIM-Bangalore tops Indian institutions in QS Executive MBA Rankings 2025.

This year, IIM Bangalore, which is the sole Indian institution, has secured its rank among the top 100 in the QS Executive MBA ranking. It has secured a rank of 87 this year in the QS Executive MBA ranking. This ranking places IIM Bangalore among the top 25 globally based on this measure. However, there has been a decline in the ranking of IIM Bangalore in its global position as compared to its ranking in previous years.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore has secured the top rank among the list of colleges in India in the QS Executive MBA rankings 2025. IIM Bangalore was ranked 50th this year, nine places below last year’s rank of 41st.

It is one of the seven Indian institutions that have made it to the QS Executive MBA rankings this year among the other 233 of the world’s top executive MBA programs. Four of the seven QS Executive MBA rankings are for private colleges, with the remaining three being IIMs. 

This ranking has been published by the international higher education expert QS Quacquarelli Symonds on Wednesday. 

IIM Kozhikode has shown a  improvement in its rank from 171st to the 180th band last year to the 161st-170th band this year. Although IIM Indore has maintained the retained its previous rank.

As per the ranking, the Indian School of Business (ISB) has secured the second-highest ranking among other Indian institutions. The rank band is 111-120 rank band. ISB, a private business school has campuses in Hyderabad and Mohali. ISB is followed by another IIM which is IIM Kozhikode (161-170 rank band), IIM Indore (181-190). The other institutions that secured a good ranking after the colleges mentioned above are the Institute of Management Technology Ghaziabad (181-190), Woxsen School of Business, Hyderabad (191-200) and the Goa Institute of Management (201+).

Among these colleges, four of them had their positions drop in terms of ranks since last year. The colleges whose ranks have been dropped are IIM Bangalore (nine ranks down from last year's 41), ISB (last year, it was in the 101-110 band), IMT Ghaziabad (from last year's 171-180 to this year's 181-190 rank band) and the Woxsen School of Business (from last year's 181+ to this year's 191-200 rank band).

This list consists of the six colleges that were already present last year, while this year there has been a new entry of the Goa Institute of Management. 

Talking about the list of QS Executive MBA ranking for the years 2022 and 2023, there were fewer Indian Institutions like IIM Bangalore, ISB and IIM Kozhikode.

Further talking about the worldwide institutions, the Said Business School at Oxford University led the ranking for the second consecutive year. This is followed by the HEC Paris and IESE Business School, which has campuses in cities like Barcelona and New York. Then comes in the list, MIT Sloan School of Management and London Business School.

Among the countries USA has secured the position for the most represented country in the list as among all the colleges listed 68 business schools featured are from the USA. Then comes France with 13 colleges, the UK with 11 and Spain and Canada with nine each. China and India both have seven institutions included in the list this year.

QS Ranking

The ranking of the QS Executive MBA is dependent on the information from two QS surveys. These two surveys are the QS Global Employer Survey and the QS Academic Survey. The information is also taken from the schools on measures such as executive profile, which further includes work experience of the enrolled students and the career development measures such as average salary growth and promotions a year after graduation.
