The awards which will be presented on October 28, 2025 during the 52nd Foundation Day celebrations of IIM Bangalore, an official announcement said. 2013: The IIMB Alumni Association instituted the Alumni Service Award during the institute's Golden Jubilee year in 2023 to honour graduates demonstrating sustained contributions to the institute the IIMB Alumni Association and the greater alumni community. The recipient may be awarded a citation in recognition of service to the IIMB community.

2025 Alumni Service Award winners

Navin Kumar batch PGP 1999; Karan Bhagat batch PGP 2001 and Michael Sequeira batch PGP 2010 are recipients of the 2025 Alumni Service Award.

Navin Kumar has more than 30 years of experience in the talent services and technology spaces and remains active with IIMB through teaching and alumni initiatives. He was from 2018 to 2019 the Vice President of the IIMB Alumni Association and was instrumental in developing IIMBueX, an online equivalent of the IIMBue leadership conclave that took place during the pandemic.

Karan Bhagat founder and CEO of 360 ONE one of India's largest financial and asset management institutions has been associated with IIMB's student-led forums such as the IIMBue leadership conclave. He has contributed towards enhancing the institute's engagement with industry and promoting leadership growth among students and alumni.

IIMB's efforts to promote accessibility and inclusion have been greatly influenced by Michael Sequeira, legal officer at Sanctuary Group in the UK. He was a part of the PGP 2010 class and assisted in the establishment of IIMB's Office of Disability Services the first of its type in any Indian Institute of Management. He still contributes to the institute through mentoring and advocating on behalf of students with disabilities and in setting up Stars of IIM Bangalore a support group for alumni and students with special needs. The Alumni Service Award is one of the main recognitions of IIM Bangalore, which recognises its alumni volunteer efforts to drive the institute's vision and networks within the community. As claimed by IIM Bangalore, the award stresses the significance of continuous alumni participation in academic, social and development initiatives of an institution.

Since its inception the award has sought to enhance alumni participation, networks of mentors and activities that enhance the connection between IIMB and its international community.

Later this month, as part of the Foundation Day festivities the 2025 recipients will be recognised in a formal event on the IIM Bangalore campus.
