The BPGP adopts a blended delivery methodology, with 80% of the coursework being done through synchronous online classes, while the remaining 20% brings participants to campus for immersive weeklong modules. The online component is powered by VCNow, an IIM Ahmedabad technology collaborator. Case studies, simulated environments and group projects are among the teaching approaches used. According to the institute, participants improve cross-functional judgment, gain strategic perspective and prepare for leadership responsibility.
The BPGP is founded on the basis of faculty talent, research resources and connectivity with industries. In fact, IIM Ahmedabad mentioned how this training experience fetches knowledge that can't be accessed at conventional places to learn. The connected quote stated how research infrastructure and connectivity developed at IIM Ahmedabad enhances performance.
Admission is according to a defined assessment process by the institute. Assessors consider educational credentials, professional experience, understanding regarding career objectives and aptitude test scores. Assessors also assess candidates for their ability to cope with the course rigor and their potential as collaborative learners in a classroom environment. BPGP marks the institution's emphatic foray into providing quality management education for middle-aged working professionals, said the Director of IIMA, Bharat Bhasker.
The program is designed for candidates with work experience, leadership potential and the ability to balance academic studies with work obligations. The BPGP is designed for individuals with the maturity to bring to the class, the curiosity to learn and the drive to grasp concepts. The objective of BPGP is to enable participants to strengthen their foundations of management skills while developing skills to think across functions, work with teams and make decisions when faced with ambiguity. This was stated by Joshy Jacob, chairman of BPGP.
