IIM Ahmedabad and Novo Nordisk India Join Hands to Fight Obesity

The objective of the partnership is to strengthen India's healthcare system through a multifaceted approach with a core emphasis on obesity. The two institutions will develop and implement influential programs under three broad categories: enhancing health capacity, shaping health policies and researching the economic dimensions of health.

Through this collaboration, they will work on developing educational content, designing model frameworks for obesity clinics and utilising data to inform improved health policies. They will also engage in research to learn how obesity impacts the economy, worker productivity and the healthcare system.

IIMA and NNIPL intend to print research papers, conduct pilot outreach programs and collaborate closely with government agencies to make their efforts translate into tangible, measurable change. The alliance hopes to pool the best of medical and public policy expertise to create sustainable, evidence-based solutions.

The IIMA Endowment Fund which oversees alumni contributions and corporate sponsorships assisted in making such significant collaboration possible.
