The goal is to increase the total number of participants from approximately 3800 to 10,000 by 2033 by training and graduating 1000 Indian women entrepreneurs each year. The program will include networking, mentorship and business training to empower women to make more significant contributions to India's economy.
This initiative which is in line with India's "Viksit Bharat 2047" goal attempts to remove significant barriers that women entrepreneurs face such as a lack of capital and network access.
Goldman Sachs points out that India has tremendous potential to enhance its economy by increasing the involvement of women in the workforce. Success stories for the program already have four times the revenues, increased jobs and healthier businesses generating over 12,000 jobs in India.
