Dubai Crown Prince opens IIM Ahmedabad's UAE campus

On September 11, Dubai's Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum officially inaugurated the UAE campus of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in an important milestone for India's higher education offensive overseas.

The launch signifies a deepening of educational ties as much as India's growing presence in the global academic map, according to the Ministry of Education.

On a two-day trip to the UAE, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan complimented the effort as a bold move. The world will see India at its best on the campus of IIM Ahmedabad in Dubai. By housing the IIM Ahmedabad international campus, Dubai has now created the ideal platform for the philosophy of "Indian in spirit, global in view he wrote on X.

Pradhan also had a meeting with the UAE's Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abdulrahman Abdulmannan Al Awar. The two leaders as per the Education Ministry talked about enhancing bilateral cooperation. According to the ministry, both leaders looked at their bilateral collaboration in higher education and decided to develop knowledge bridges even more. Research, innovation and knowledge will serve as the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership's primary foundations.

The symposium also highlighted the importance of joint research in emerging and important fields building capacity and enhanced cultural and intellectual exchanges. Both leaders reaffirmed the significance of people to people relations and shared interests underscoring India as a pool of global talent and the UAE's status as a global economic powerhouse. 

The education minister visited IIT Delhi's campus in Abu Dhabi on September 10 and inaugurated the Atal Incubation Centre the first ever of its kind for an Indian school abroad.

The UAE visit is a continuation of the ministry's initiative to establish mutual platforms for promoting academic excellence, innovation and opportunities for youth in the two nations.
