CUET-UG Eligibility Criteria

The Central University Entrance test for Undergraduates is known as CUET UG. National Testing Agency Conduct the exam. The Exam is an India-level examination for admission into the undergraduate program of central and other collaborating universities. It is a computer-based test.

Candidates should know the qualification requirements before applying for the examination to save themselves from disqualification. They have to see the official website or call the helpline number if they face any difficulty in filling out the registration form. 

The CUET UG exam will be conducted in various languages. There are three subjects in the CUET UG examination. Subjects are Language, Domain-specific and general aptitude tests. The candidates have to select the subjects according to their academic background. Candidates have to do their best preparation to get good marks and admission to their desired universities.

Eligibility Criteria for CUET UG Examination

Age Limit: In the CUET UG exam, no age limit is required. Candidates should check the particular college eligibility requirements for which they want to get admitted.

Education Qualification: 

  • Candidates must have passed class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board and university.

  • An applicant who has taken the class 12 examination in 2025 is also eligible for the CUET UG exam.

CUET UG Exam Reservation Policy

According to the rules made by the Indian government, a person belongs to the Indian nation and a category like General EWS, ST, Sc and OBC NCL will come under the reserved category.

Policy for Persons with Disability (PwD)/ Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD)

A person with long-term mental, physical, intellectual and sensory impairment, like hearing loss, visual impairment, deafness, blindness and dual sensory impairment, that, in interaction with barriers, hinders his full and effective participation in society equally to others, comes under the PwD category.

A person who has not less than 40% of a specified disability comes under the persons with benchmark disabilities. Here, specified disability is not defined in measurable terms, whereas in PwD, specified disability is defined in measurable terms, as certified by the certifying authority.

No, Class 11 students can't apply for the CUET UG exam. The candidates who have passed class 12 or appeared in class 12 are eligible for the CUET UG exam.

Yes, diploma holders can apply for the CUET UG exam. The candidates must have a three-year diploma in equivalent subjects with 45% marks.

Yes, the CUET UG exam is mandatory for all the central universities.

There is no attempt limit for the CUET UG exam. Aspirants can give the exam once a year provided they fulfil the eligibility criteria every time.

The NTA does not decide any percentage for candidates to appear in the CUET UG exam. But the general and OBC candidates must have 50% marks in class 12, or SC and ST candidates have 45% marks in the class 12 examination.
