    Eligibility for IIM Ranchi Scholarship 

    • The Merit-cum-Means Scholarship at IIM Ranchi supports 25 meritorious yet financially weak students annually across MBA, MBA-BA, MBA-HR and IPM programs, as part of an annual fund of INR 1 crore.

    • For ST students, the national “National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST Students” (Top-Class) is available via the National Scholarship Portal, with parental income and admission verification criteria.

    • Government scholarships (Central Sector for SC, Minority, PwD) require income limits. 

    Note: For  Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, IIM Ranchi students must not be currently receiving another scholarship and parental income is capped, with preference given to SC/ST students and the differently-abled. Scholarship applicants must be admitted meritoriously into one of the eligible programs.

    IIM Ranchi Scholarship Selection Criteria 

    • Academic merit: performance in CAT/IPMAT, past academics.

    • Financial need: parental/family income within prescribed caps.

    • Program Enrollment: IIM Ranchi students must have taken admission in either MBA, MBA-BA, MBA-HR or IPM.

    • Category preference: financial weightage for SC/ST and differently-abled candidates.

    • Uniqueness: At present, candidates must not avail themselves of any other scholarship.

    • Government scholarships: Students who meet the income requirements set forth by the Government of India may be chosen for government scholarships.

    • Application and verification schedule: Students at IIM Ranchi are required to follow the National Scholarship Portal, institute verification schedules and government approvals.

    General Scholarship Rules of Ranchi 

    • Only 25 students per year will receive the institute’s Merit-cum-Means Scholarship.

    • Open to students in MBA, MBA-BA, MBA-HR, and IPM programs.

    • Must be meritorious and financially weak; parental income limits apply.

    • SC, ST, and differently-abled (divyang) students are given weightage.

    • If a student currently enjoys another scholarship, then they are not qualified.

    • After the ministry confirms eligibility and receives confirmation from the institute, government funding for scholarships gets distributed.

    • Other than institute-level schemes, students are also recommended to search for NSP and state-level scholarships.

    • Follow the deadlines of applications and furnish the required documents, such as proof of disability, caste certificate and income certificate, is essential.

    To be considered, you should be admitted to the IIM Ranchi MBA, MBA-BA, MBA-HR or IPM programs and show financial need with parents' income below the institute-specified ceilings.
