CEPT University 20th Convocation: Graduation, Awards and MBA in Real Estate Announced

On January 17, the 20th convocation ceremony of CEPT University saw 589 students receiving their degrees. There was only one PhD scholar, 196 undergraduates and 392 postgraduate scholars who received degrees. In total, 45 scholars received the University Award of Proficiency.

CEPT University 20th Convocation: Graduation, Awards and MBA in Real Estate Announced

The main guest at the event was Professor Ashoke Chatterjee, design educator and ex-executive director of NID.

During the event, the president of CEPT University, Prof Barjor Mehta announced the commencement of the MBA in Real Estate program, which will be delivered by the faculty of the management department. The program acknowledges the growing requirement for professionals with the acumen necessary to guide the growing formalised real estate industry in the country, said Mehta while highlighting their strengths in areas of architecture, urban planning, design, structural engineering, construction and project management, among others.

Prof Rasik Shah was awarded the honorary doctorate degree Honoris Causa for his contributions to structural engineering, while Prof Vidyadhar Phatak was awarded the same for his contributions to urban planning from CEPT University.

CEPT University chairman Sanjay Lalbhai called at the event, the passing out cohort is getting into a profession shaped by climate urgency and AI and technology should assist human judgment without replacing it.

According to Chatterjee, good architecture shows its value through the emotions it brings and by doing what is right.
