AICTE Launches Samarthan Internship Scheme for Students From Remote Region

AICTE has launched the Samarthan Internship Connect Scheme 2026 - 2027 to provide internship opportunities to students from geographically remote and underserved regions of India. Students belonging to Ladakh, J&K, North Eastern states and Andaman and Nicobar Islands are eligible to apply for the scheme.

Under the initiative selected students will attend 30 day on campus internships at leading institutions such as IITs, IIMs, NITs, IIITs and IISERs. Around 611 students are expected to participate in the current academic session.

The program aims to improve students academic professional skills, exposure and employability through expert lectures, lab training, innovation centre visits and interaction with faculty and researchers. AICTE will also provide support for accommodation, food and travel expenses. The application process for the scheme will close on 25 May 2026.
