Adani Group Launches Scholarship Program at IIM Calcutta to Support Future Leaders

The Adani Group has announced a new scholarship program for IIM Calcutta students to help build future leaders and strengthen ties between industry and academia. The program titled Adani Accelerated Leadership Program was launched after the signing of the memorandum. Prof. Alok Kumar Rai who is the newly appointed director of IIM Calcutta was present when the Memorandum of Understanding was signed.

Under this initiative, six MBA students will be supported every year. The group has committed ₹1.62 crore for two years with the funds given in two parts of ₹81 lakh each. The second instalment will depend on the students’ academic performance.

Prof. Sumanta Basu who is the Dean of Development & External Relations at IIM Calcutta welcomed the collaboration saying it focuses on leadership development, expanding opportunities and research partnerships. Subhashrie R. Venkatraj the Senior VP of AALP Intake at Adani Group said the program aims to develop an internal pool of talented leaders calling it the “key to success.”

During the event, students got a chance to interact with senior Adani Group leaders. Adani Airports CEO Arun Bansal encouraged students to stay “curious and humble” while Sagar Adani who is the Promoter & Executive Director said the group’s goal is to “help build talent which builds strong organisations.”
