The session followed the role of the military in various areas of national development, from humanitarian assistance to educational engagement, environmental conservation and technical advancement.
Major General Rana described several turning points in India's military history, which have reinforced India's sovereignty and humanitarian principles through victories in battles. However, he stressed that the Armed Forces' real strength comes from their support for nation-building in times of peace.
Specific mention was made of the Army's educational programs. Pointing to examples from military-run institutions, Major General Rana discussed how students from difficult areas successfully cleared national-level examinations such as NEET and JEE. He also emphasised the role of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in transforming India's youth by imparting discipline, service and patriotism.
