The TANCET 2026 exam will be conducted in various testing locations in Tamil Nadu by Anna University. Things to Do on TANCET 2026 Exam Day
Arrive at the Test Centre Before the Scheduled Time – The test for TANCET MCA will be held in the morning session from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM while that for TANCET MBA will be held in the afternoon session from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. It is recommended that the candidates try to reach the test centre at least an hour before the start of the examination. Candidates will not be allowed to exit the test centre until the end of the test.
Bring Your TANCET 2026 Hall Ticket - Candidates should carry a printed copy of the TANCET 2026 hall ticket to the examination venue. Entry into the examination hall will not be allowed without a TANCET hall ticket. As there are no printing shops around the test centre, candidates should get their admission card printed at least a day before the test.
Bring Your Original Photo ID Proof - Along with the hall ticket candidates have to bring an original photo ID proof to the exam centre. This is done to avoid any kind of impersonation in the exam hall. The following photo ID proofs are acceptable -

PAN Card
Passport
Driving License
Bring Along Necessary Stationery Items - As the TANCET 2026 test is an offline test, candidates have to use an OMR sheet to fill in the answers. Therefore, candidates are required to bring a black ballpoint pen. Also, a pencil and eraser are necessary if candidates need to recheck their answers (if doubtful). Candidates are not allowed to borrow stationery from others or communicate with other candidates within the examination centre. Candidates should arrange all stationery a day before the exam.
Seat Arrangement - After going through frisking at the test centre, candidates will be guided to the test hall. They need to occupy their seats as per the seat number mentioned on their TANCET admit card.
Check the Seat Arrangement - After frisking at the examination centre, candidates will be directed to the examination hall. Candidates should sit in the seat allocated based on their roll number on the TANCET admit card. The seat number will not be changed before the exam.
Read TANCET Test Paper - After receiving the test paper from the invigilator, candidates should first read all the instructions carefully after which they need to quickly scan all the questions. It is advisable to start with the section that can be completed in less time with maximum accuracy to manage time efficiently.
Fill the OMR Sheet Carefully - As the TANCET OMR sheet is evaluated by means of a computer software program, it becomes essential for all candidates to fill the form very carefully using only the black ballpoint pen. Selecting two answers against one question or cancelling one selected answer would attract negative marking, no extra sheets would be provided for any errors made. Returning the OMR sheet to the invigilator after examination is mandatory on the candidate’s part.
Submission of Question Paper & OMR Sheet After Examination - Upon completion of the exam candidates are expected to hand over the question paper and OMR sheet to the invigilator, failure to do so will lead to disqualification for the exam.
Things to Avoid on TANCET 2026 Exam Day
Avoid Carrying Any Form of Electronics Inside the Testing Hall - Candidates must not carry any electronic devices inside the TANCET exam centre. Items not allowed inside the test centre are -

Bluetooth devices

Do Not Spend Too Much Time on One Question - The TANCET exam gives the aspirants only two hours to complete one hundred questions. Ideally, each question should take a minute leaving twenty minutes for revision. Time management is very important in this exam in order to ensure that no question is missed.
Do Not Indulge in Malpractice - If a candidate is found engaging in any form of malpractice within the TANCET exam centre, the candidate will be immediately disqualified from taking the test. Candidates should rely only on their own knowledge and preparation.
Do Not Attempt All Questions by Guesswork - For every wrong answer a penalty of 1/3 mark is deducted in the TANCET 2026 exam. Thus for every three wrong answers one mark is deducted. Candidates should avoid attempting questions based on pure guesswork as each incorrect answer reduces their chances of TN MBA admission.
Do Not Carry Prohibited Material - The candidates are not allowed to bring any item inside the exam hall except their pen and permitted stationery. The invigilator will provide a plain sheet for rough work which must be submitted along with the question paper and OMR sheet before leaving.
Do Not Leave the Exam Hall Before the Stipulated Time - The candidates should utilise their remaining time for reviewing the answers before handing their OMR sheet. If there are doubts about any answer the extra time should be used to verify its correctness.
TANCET 2026 Exam Day Dress Code
The TANCET 2026 aspirants are advised to wear light clothes that are easy to wear based on the prevailing climate conditions. The following dress code guidelines must be followed -
Do Not Wear Caps/Headgear - Wearing caps/hats/headgear is prohibited except for religious purposes and will be checked by the officials before entering the examination centre.
Do Not Wear Jackets/Hoodies - Clothes like jackets or hoodies with fastening buttons/zippers are not recommended because they create delays during the security check.
Avoid Wearing Clothes With Pockets - Candidates should wear clothes that have no pockets as they might be asked to remove them at the security checkpoint.
Avoid Wearing Jewellery and Accessories - The candidates should not carry rings, bracelets, necklaces, watches or any other type of jewellery with them as all these items cannot be taken inside the examination hall.
