SNAP 2025 Eligibility Criteria & Reservation Policy For SIU Institutes

SIU Institutes Program-Wise SNAP Eligibility Criteria 2025
Symbiosis International University (SIU) has specific eligibility criteria for its institutes and MBA courses through SNAP 2025. Each course has its own unique eligibility criteria from general MBA to sectoral MBAs like Business Analytics, Agri-Business, Digital Transformation and Healthcare Management. Most of the courses require a bachelors degree with at least 50% marks (SC/ST-45%) but certain special IMIs which includes MBAs need a relevant educational background or work experience.

The Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) has its own reservation policy although all other institutes are subject to SIU's.
Reservation Within Sanctioned Intake
Nagpur Domicile Criteria
Residence: Lived Nagpur urban area for five years in succession or otherwise.
Education: Have passed or are currently appearing for graduation/ post graduation from Nagpur University OR have passed Maharashtra State Board, CISCE, CBSE or ICSE 10th and 12th in the first attempt.
Note: Foreign or other state boards' certificates won't be accepted.

In the case of students who fall under two reserved category (SC + PwD), they need to take only one category during the registration of SNAP.
Reservation advantage will be given only if the original documents issued by the competent authorities are furnished.
Candidates will also have to satisfy the minimum SNAP eligibility 2025 and performance criteria.
If incorrect information is provided regarding the category, candidature can be terminated at any point.

Reservation for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) at SIU
3% seats in all Symbiosis (SIU) institutions are reserved for persons with disabilities according to Government instructions and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

While completing the registration form choose the PwD option and mention your type of disability. Upload the following:
Disability Certificate from a Government Medical Authority.
Unique Disability ID (UDID) card.
SIU's Medical Board will authenticate your documents and certify PwD category SNAP Exam eligibility criteria.
Scribe/Writer Guidelines
SIU does not assist with a scribe. Candidates have to arrange one on their own.
The scribe/writer should not have read beyond Class 12.
Authorisation for use of scribes has to be applied for in advance by sending an email to info@snaptest.org and candidates should bring the authorisation mail and documents with them on exam day.
Extra Time on Exam
PwD candidates receive 20 minutes of extra time per 60 minutes of the test.
Reservation for Children/Wards of Defence Personnel at SIU
Who all are Eligible?
Children or wards of active or retired members of the armed forces (Air Force, Navy and Army).
Children of ex-servicemen (according to Ministry of Defence regulations).
Children of Defence personnel who passed away in service or after retirement.

According to the MoU between SIU and the Ministry of Defence (2000) SIMS provides 90% reservation in MBA courses:
80% seats - Offspring/wards/spouse of Defence personnel (Defence Open).
10% seats - For defence. Dependents of
Personnel killed in action (war, counter-insurgency or warlike actions) fall under a special category.
Employees with more than 50% handicap who are working
Survivors of military soldiers who lost their lives while serving
Candidates who are open or sponsored by the industry will fill the remaining 10% of SIMS seats.
Reservation in Other SIU Institutes (within sanctioned intake 5%)
Children/wards of Defence personnel also have 5% reservation in these institutes:
MBA (International Business) – SIIB, Pune
MBA (Digital & Telecom Management) – SIDTM, Pune
MBA (Information Technology Business Management) – SCIT, Pune
MBA (Information Technology) – SICSR, Pune
For the remaining programs Defence category candidates will be considered under the OPEN category.
Important Notes for Applicants
Applicants have to choose the Defence category independently for each program applied for.
SIMS Defence category here refers strictly to serving/retired Army, Navy, Air Force personnel or ex-servicemen (as per official MoD notification).
Armed Forces officers on study leave (HQs approved) receive direct admission, subject to their fulfilment of the eligibility criterion.

Yes. Final year students can appear. But before joining the program they should have their degree with the required grade.
It is not necessary in most of the MBA schools. However, experience in jobs relevant to the course is a prerequisite for some specialised courses such as the MBA in Business Analytics or the Infrastructure Development and Management program.
No, there is no age bar set for SNAP. Applications are welcome from anyone who meets the academic requirements.
The international students or students with a degree from another country must have the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) authenticate their degrees in order to be eligible.
In fact, some of the programs specifically prefer or demand SNAP applicants with engineering or equivalent qualifications like the MBA programs in Infrastructure Development, Business Analytics, Operations and Energy & Environment.
Backlogged students are not admissible. All backlogs must be cleared prior to admissions.
