KMAT Karnataka 2026 - Exam Dates, Application Forms, Result, Eligibility and Syllabus

KMAT Karnataka is conducted by KPPGCA for students seeking admission to about 170+ AICTE-approved MBA colleges in Karnataka state. The examination is tentatively set for September 2026 with the registration process starting from 2nd April 2026 through the official website. No negative marking system is applicable.

In 2026, the first session of the KMAT Karnataka exam is expected to happen in the first week of September. Application forms for KMAT 2026 were released on 2nd April 2026 through the official website. The KMAT application form 2026 deadline will be published soon.

There will be two sittings for the KMAT 2026 entrance exam and an application form will be available for both sittings. It is necessary that the candidates go through the eligibility requirements and complete their application process by submitting the application forms along with the application fees.

For students' reference the KMAT 2025 exam was conducted in an online proctoring mode. The first sitting was conducted on 7th September while the second sitting was on 25 October 2025.

What is KMAT Karnataka?

KMAT Karnataka also known as Karnataka Management Aptitude Test is an entrance examination at the state level conducted by the Karnataka Post Graduate Private Colleges' Association (KPPGCA). This test is conducted to get admission into the MBA and  PGDM courses. The organisation was formed for the betterment of professional education in Karnataka and to ease the process of getting admitted to any postgraduate management program in Karnataka.

There are more than 170 MBA colleges approved by AICTE in Karnataka offering admissions on the basis of KMAT results. Students who pass the KMAT will be selected for additional steps of the admissions process such as the PI and GD.

KMAT Karnataka 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Previously, students of Karnataka alone could take up the KMAT examination. However, since 2018 this rule has been removed and now students from all states across India can apply for the exam. The eligibility criteria are defined by UGC norms and the criteria for all colleges participating in this examination are the same. But there might be some special requirements for a candidate to be eligible that are set by individual colleges for final admission.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should have passed their undergraduate degree program in any field of study including Commerce, Management, Arts, Social Science, Engineering or Technology from any college/university recognised by the government.

  • Final admission would be based on the KMAT scores obtained, academic merit and subject-wise performance.

Minimum Marks Required

  • General Category - Minimum 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA in graduation

  • SC/ST Category - Minimum 45% aggregate or equivalent CGPA in graduation

KMAT Karnataka Application Process 2026

The KMAT 2026 application form is available on the official website of KMAT India. The following steps one should follow to register for the exam-

  1. Navigate to the official website of KMAT India and click on the KMAT 2026 Application Form link

  2. Fill in your personal details such as full name, date of birth, email ID, cell number and country

  3. Upon a successful registration process, a user ID and password will be sent to your mobile number and email ID 

  4. Log in to your registered account and fill out the application form after selecting your preferred programs and test centre locations

  5. Attach required documents such as a passport-sized photograph and a digital signature

  6. Pay the application fees through credit, debit cards, Internet Banking, UPi or e-wallets

Regardless of the category all candidates applying for KMAT 2026 are required to pay an application fee of ₹873.60 which includes GST and Platform Fee. No fee waiver or concession is available for any category including SC, ST and PwD candidates.

KMAT Karnataka 2026 Syllabus

Syllabus for KMAT Karnataka 2026 has been divided into three categories – 

1. VARC - Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension 

Reading Comprehension, Synonyms, Antonyms, Grammar, Vocabulary and Sentence Completion.

2. QA - Quantitative Ability

Trigonometry, geometry, algebra, arithmetic, statistics and modern mathematics.

3. LR - Logical Reasoning

Venn diagrams, logical connectives, series, puzzles, analogy, blood relations, direction sense, coding-decoding and data sufficiency.

KMAT 2026 Admit Card can be accessed via the official website. It is a crucial piece of paper that all candidates should carry with them to the examination center. This admit card contains all the necessary information related to the test session, login timing and other details related to the examination.

The first week of September 2026 is when the KMAT 2026 exam is expected to begin. Each year the test is administered in two sessions.

On 2 April 2026, KMAT 2026 registration opened on the official kmatindia.com website. The registration deadline has not yet been announced.

The results of the first session of KMAT have been declared on 23 Sep. Currently, the results of MBA courses are available online.

Applying for the Karnataka KMAT exam will cost students ₹873.60.

Participating colleges will release their cutoff lists once the results of KMAT Karnataka are declared. Following this a shortlist of candidates will be invited for group discussions and personal interviews.
