IIM Raipur Launches Blended Learning Financial Planning Program for Working Professionals

The 11-month program is designed to help participants build strong knowledge, practical skills and strategic understanding of the rapidly changing financial services sector. Co-developed by IIM Raipur and FPSB India (Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd, USA), the program aims to combine academic learning with real-world industry practices to prepare future-ready financial planning professionals.

According to the official statement, the course will help bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry requirements while also developing ethical, client-focused and skilled professionals who can meet the evolving needs of the financial services industry.

The executive program in financial planning will be delivered in a blended learning mode and will also be linked with the CFP Certification through the Fast Track Pathway, according to the statement.

Sanjeev Prashar, Director in charge of IIM Raipur, said that the financial services industry is rapidly changing and now requires professionals who can combine strong business understanding with complete financial planning skills. He added that the collaboration with FPSB India aims to strengthen financial education in the country and provide industry-relevant learning that connects classroom knowledge with real-world practice.

The program is designed to provide students with advanced management knowledge along with professional financial planning expertise. Through this partnership, learners will gain exposure to international financial planning standards while faculty and researchers will explore new developments in areas like wealth management and behavioural finance.

Ramesh Vishwanathan, CEO of FPSB India, said that the organisation is focused on developing professionals who can handle the complex financial needs of individuals and families in today's changing environment. He added that the partnership with IIM Raipur reflects a shared goal of improving professional standards in financial planning by combining academic excellence with globally recognised certification. According to him, the program will help participants think strategically, act ethically and contribute effectively to clients' financial well-being.
