IIM Bodh Gaya Hosts IRCM 2026 Mindfulness Conference

The International Research Conference on Mindfulness (IRCM) 2026, the third edition of its biennial conference on mindfulness research, was organised by IIM Bodh Gaya. The conference was organised in hybrid mode and was conducted over two days. The conference was attended by scholars, practitioners and students from India and other countries like Japan, Vietnam and New Zealand.

IIM Bodh Gaya Hosts IRCM 2026 Mindfulness Conference

The conference received over 255 research paper submissions, which is more than three times the number of submissions received in the last conference. This indicates that there is a growing interest in mindfulness research in the field of management and social sciences.

The conference was inaugurated by Director Vinita S. Sahay and conveners Dr. Remya Lathabhavan and Dr. Teena Bharti. The keynote speakers for the conference were Jyoti Bachani, Vishal Gupta and Ramya Tarakad Venkateswaran. They emphasised the need to integrate traditional mindfulness techniques with modern research to enhance organizations and society.

The conference had 12 themes like leadership, organisational behavior, finance, education, decision-making and sustainability. Researchers shared their studies on how mindfulness can help make better decisions.

Pre-conference workshops were also held. Mindfulness coach Shishir Arya spoke about professional effectiveness and mindful living. IIM Indore faculty member Dr. Surbhi Dayal spoke about mindfulness and art/lifestyle.

The conference ended with speeches by Oleg Medvedev, Prachi Thakur and Yanki Hartijasti, who emphasised the need for international collaboration and the use of mindfulness in developing resilient institutions.

The IRCM 2026 conference emphasised the importance of mindfulness in IIM Bodh Gaya’s teaching, research and leadership development activities to produce responsible and self-aware leaders.
