The admission process of the Indian Institute of Management Indore is aimed at identifying capable and well rounded individuals who can perform exceedingly well in a challenging management education program. It is multi stage and shortlists candidates based on their academic background, performance in entrance tests, personal qualities and overall potential to become successful managers and leaders.

Entrance to the flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management is primarily done using the CAT which is held every year. The candidates need to meet IIM Indore's minimum sectional and overall percentile cutoffs. Shortlisted candidates are invited to the next round which typically consists of a written ability test and a personal interview. These stages test communication skills, thought clarity, analytical skills and leadership potential.

The institute adopts a comprehensive selection procedure that considers not only CAT scores but also past academic achievements (Class 10, Class 12 and graduation), professional experience and WAT and PI round performance. To ensure a well balanced and varied student batch all these points are considered while preparing the final merit list.

In addition to the PGP IIM Indore has a five-year integrated programme in management for students after Class 12. IPM entry is through the IPMAT entrance exam followed by WAT and PI rounds. For executive and doctoral programs the candidates are selected based on relevant entry exams like the GMAT, GRE, CAT or IIM specific tests followed by interviews.

Overall the admission process of IIM Indore is transparent and competitive with the objective of admitting candidates possessing good academic qualifications, problem solving abilities, leadership skills and aspirants wanting to contribute meaningfully to the corporate world. It provides a level playing ground for candidates from all educational backgrounds and professions to secure admission.

IIM Indore Admission Procedure 2025 for PGP program

Stage I: Eligibility Criteria of IIM Indore PGP program

The applicants should have the minimum educational qualification of a bachelor's degree with at least 50% of the marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD) from a recognised university or its equivalent. Students of the final year and those expecting their results can also submit an application; however, they must show evidence of their degree completion before June 30, 2025, if they want the admission to be provisional.

All applicants applying for the 2-year PGP program at IIM Indore need to fulfil the above eligibility requirements necessary for the CAT and the minimum sectional percentile and overall percentile in the CAT test (as specified in Table 1). 

Important note: Only applicants that meet the requirements will be considered for Stage 2 of the selection process.

Stage II: Candidate Shortlist for Personal Interview (PI) for PGP program of IIM Indore

Those candidates who meet the required criteria that was mentioned in the stage I will get the opportunity for the PI stage. However, a sufficient number of candidates for the personal interview round will be called from all categories. Those candidates will be shortlisted using the merit list generated based on composite score (CS) as mentioned in Table 2.

In the case of those candidates who do not receive any marks for the 12th class or HSC because of the Covid 19 pandemic the weightage assigned to this component (20%) will be distributed among the CAT exam sectional marks & the 10th standard or SSC mark on a pro-rata basis.

Stage-III: Final Selection for PGP program of IIM Indore

Only candidates fulfilling the Stage II criteria will be put on the list for final selection.  A merit list for every category will be made on the basis of Final Composite Score (FCS) as indicated in Table 3 and provisional admission will be offered accordingly following the reservation rule:

IIM Indore Admission Procedure for EPGP

Stage-I: Eligibility Criteria for EPGP program of IIM Indore

The program is open to all nationalities; however, the candidate must have –

 Educational Qualification:

•  50% in a bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline.

                                  OR

•  50% in a master's degree or equivalent in any discipline.

                                 OR

•  50% in a 5 year integrated program or other programs of comparable duration.

• Valid GMAT, GRE and CAT results: GRE and GMAT scores must be no older than 5 years after the application deadline. Thus the CAT test date must be between November 1, 2020 and October 31, 2025 (for Phase 1) and January 11, 2021 and January 10, 2026 (for Phase 2) and the CAT score must be within two years.   As a result CAT scores for 2024 and 2025 will be acceptable.

• A minimum of 5 years of management, entrepreneurial, or professional experience following graduation as of the application deadline, which is October 31, 2025 (for Phase 1) and January 10, 2026 (for Phase-2).

Stage II: Application Process for EPGP Program of IIM Indore

To apply for the Executive Postgraduate Programme in Management at IIM Indore applicants must submit an online application form between August 20, 2025 and January 10, 2026. The application processing fee is ₹5900 plus GST for Indian nationals and US $118 plus GST for foreign nationals.

Shortlisted candidates' interviews will be performed offline or online via the Zoom application depending on the situation.

Stage III: Selection Procedure of IIM Indore EPGP Program

The Admissions Committee will choose individuals for interviews based on their GMAT/GRE/CAT scores and other criteria for the academic year.

Shortlisted candidates must attend the personal interview (PI). IIM Indore also demands consistent and minimum performance in the various elements of the Personal Interview (PI), as determined by the Admissions Committee. Candidates who do not meet the minimal performance requirements in any of the PI metrics will not be considered for the next step of the selection process.

Only candidates who meet the conditions outlined above will be considered for the final selection. The merit list will be constructed using the Composite Score (CS) as shown in Table 1, and provisional admission offers will be issued.

The final selection will be dependent on the program's needs. The Admissions Committee makes all decisions about admission to the EPGP at IIM Indore.

IIM Indore Admission Procedure for IPM 

Stage I: Eligibility Criteria for IPM program of IIM Indore

1. Academic Qualification: Candidates must have completed Class 12 or an equivalent test from a certified board. The General and NC OBC categories require 60% in Class 12 (or equivalent). SC, ST, PwD candidates are given a 5% relaxation; therefore the required percentage for them is 55%.

 2. Age Requirements: Only candidates born on or after August 1, 2005 are eligible. For candidates belonging to the SC, ST or PwD categories the upper limit for DoB is August 1, 2000.

3. Academic Background: Students who have completed their Class 12 exams in any field (science, business or the arts) are eligible to appear in the test.

4. Appearing applicants: Candidates must have passed class 12 or an equivalent exam in 2023 and 2024. Candidates appearing in class 12 in 2025 are also eligible.

Stage II: Application Process for IIM Indore IPM program

Filling out application forms will commence online in March. To complete the application form the students need to go to the official website of IIM Indore. The application form will be filled out by the applicants with their own data, educational background and personal information.

Stage III: Selection Procedure for IPM program of IIM Indore

Selection will be based on the results of the aptitude test and the subsequent personal interview. Candidates who do not attend the aptitude exam, personal interview or both shall be ineligible for selection. The selecting procedure is as follows:

Aptitude Test (AT) 

The shortlisted candidates who meet the minimal eligibility requirements will be invited to the aptitude test based on the applications received. The exam format is described below.

Stage III: Eligibility pool for Stage IV

Candidates with positive raw scores and a minimum mark in each of the three Aptitude Test areas are selected for the Personal Interview at Stage 4. The Admissions Committee will establish the minimal cutoff mark for each section. A minimum cutoff mark in each section will be determined by the categories of candidates. Rejected applicants will not get individual letters of regret.

Stage IV: Personal Interview (PI) for IPM program of IIM Indore

Candidates from each category (General, EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST and PwD) would be shortlisted for a PI based on their aptitude test score as shown in Table 1.

Stage V: Final Selection for IPM Program of IIM Indore

Candidates will only be shortlisted for final selection if they meet the requirements.  The Indian government's reservation regulations will provide provisional admission and a category wise merit list will be created based on the composite score.

IIM Indore Admission Procedure for PGP-HRM

Below we have given the details of stages for the admission in the program of PGP-HRM program of IIM Indore:

Stage I: Eligibility Criteria for PGP-HRM program of IIM Indore

A graduate degree with at least 50% of the marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD) from a recognised university is required. Candidates studying in the final year can be considered but they are necessary to provide evidence of the degree completion not later than June 30, 2025. Those persons who intend to perform the CAT 2024 test must meet any one of the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree/professional degree CA/CS/ICWA (CMA)/Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI)) with required percentage.

• Applicants must be in their last year of a bachelor's degree and meet the required percentage. SC/ST/PwD candidates must have at least 45%.  For General, EWS and NC-OBC applicants, a minimum of 50% is required.

• Obtained a bachelor's degree with the required proportion of marks.

Those candidates who are interested in applying for the 2 year PGP-HRM program must fulfil the above-given eligibility criteria and must meet the minimum sectional percentile along with the overall percentile scores in the CAT exam that is mentioned in Table 1. However, only those applicants meeting the criteria will be invited for Stage II of the selection process in the program.

Stage-II: Shortlisting candidates for personal interview (PI) for PGP-HRM program of IIM Indore

In this stage only those candidates are called out who fulfil the requirement in stage 1. In this round candidates have to go through a personal interview round of any category and then a merit list is formed using Table 2.

**For all those candidates who do not get any marks for their 12th class or HSC due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the weight given for this component (20 %) must be divided between the CAT 2024 Overall Score and 10th class or SSC Score on a pro-rata basis.

Stage III: Final Selection of the Candidates for PGP-HRM program of IIM Indore

Those candidates who satisfy the requirements given in stage II will only be entertained in stage IV which is the final selection round. Based on Table No. 3's Final Composite Score a category wise merit list will be created and provisional admission offers will be made in accordance with the particular reservation guidelines..

Reservation note: As per GOI standards, 27% of the seats are reserved for NC-OBC, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, up to 10% for EWS and 5% for PwD. 

IIM Indore DPM Program Selection Process

Candidates will be shortlisted for admission in the course that is given in the application form. Below we have given the details of stages for the admission in the program.

Eligibility criteria for IIM Indore DPM Program 

Master's/PG Diploma (2 years) 60%, CA/ICWA/CS 50%, a five year integrated master's 60% or a First Class 4 year Bachelor's degree. Candidates must have qualified for the following exam: CAT/GRE/JRF

Stage 1: Those candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria must submit their application form online.

Stage 2: The shortlisting of the candidate will be done by the respective area if the candidate has met all the eligibility criteria. And then those candidates will be called for PI, decided by the admission committee. 

Stage 3: IIM Indore expects a minimum performance in the PI parameter, decided by the admission committee. 

Stage 4: The final selection for admitting the candidate is based on the academic area requirement. And then an area wise offer list will be released. However, all matters concern to admission into the DPM at IIM Indore will be taken by the Admission Committee.

IIM Indore EDPM Admission Process

The candidate will be shortlisted on the basis of the information provided by the application form.

Eligibility Criteria: Not less than 5 years of postgraduate work experience along with a master's/PG diploma of at least 60%, CA/ICWA/CS of 50%, a five year integrated master's of 60% or a first class 4 year bachelor's degree.

Stage 1: Those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria as mentioned above must submit their application online.

Stage 2: Those candidates who meet all the requirements and academic eligibility criteria will be called for an interview that will be conducted at IIM Indore. 

Stage 3: For a personal interview, the candidate must fulfil minimal performance criteria to be eligible for a Personal interview.

Stage 4: Based on the requirements of the academic field to which the candidate has applied, this is the last decision about admission to the EDPM program.   As a result, an offer list will be created by area wise.

IIM Indore PGPMX Program Admission Process

The following steps are involved in the PGPMX program of IIM Indore:

Step 1. Submission of Application 

Interested candidates must fulfil the application form and submit online. When the form gets submitted, an acknowledgement that is system generated is sent to the email ID that is provided by the candidate. Also login credentials with editing rights will be given to candidates in the same mail.

Step 2. Payment of Application Fee by the candidate

Interested candidates must deposit the application fees for the application online before the deadline. Also a candidate must know that the application fee for entering the program is nonrefundable. 

Step 3. Aptitude Test & Interview of the candidate

The selection of the candidates will depend upon the candidates' performance in the aptitude test and PI or personal interview that the institute organises. Hence It will be followed by PI. 

Step 4. Final Offer of Admission to the candidate

Final admission offers to the candidate will be given based on their overall performance in the aptitude test and interview. However, the candidate will get the conclusion within a week. Students will get the offer letter through email. Moreover, candidates must check their email regularly as the admission offer letter will be received by mail.

Step 5. Acceptance of Admission Offer and Payment of Commitment Fee

This is the second last step where those candidates who are invited for admission to the PGPMX program are required to accept the admission offer for the program in the given format. It should be done within the date mentioned in the admission offer letter. Hence, the student will get the offer letter along with the admission offer letter. 

Step 6. Registration

All those candidates who are interested in the program have to submit and sign the registration form on the date of registration. Application forms have all the information that candidates must know about the program.
