IIM Calcutta History 

India's first management school(IIM) Calcutta, was founded in November 1961 with aid from the Ford Foundation in collaboration with the MIT Sloan School of Management. The institute first offered PGP, a two-year full-time MBA program that eventually evolved into a flagship program. IIM Calcutta Scholarships for 2025 

  Merit-based, need-based and outside funding scholarship programs that will be available at IIM Calcutta in 2025 are listed below:

• Institute Merit Scholarships: These awards are given to students who show academic excellence and test-taking ability.

IIM Calcutta 2025 CAT Exam Cut-Off

The CAT IIM Calcutta 2025 cut-off for PGP (MBA) appears to be extremely competitive:

• General: 99+ percentile

• OBC: percentiles 96–98

• SC: 90–95 percentile

• ST: 85–90 percentile

• EWS: 95–97 percentile

• PwD: 80+ percentile (varies)

Such students who are shortlisted usually go through a rigorous screening process that consists of:

• Profiles (including extracurricular activities, work history and education)

• Writing Ability Test (WAT)

• Face-to-face interview (PI)

• Extra Marks for Gender Diversity Factor: Aspirants who are female or transgender are entitled to  four extra points. Additionally, students pursuing a bachelor's degree in a field other than engineering will be awarded an additional four points.

Admission to IIM Calcutta requires an appropriate CAT score. Aim for 99+ percentile.

A combination of scores that considers academics, gender diversity, academic discipline, experience and the CAT percentile is used for shortlisting.

• 100% placement rate.

• The average salary is about INR 35 lakh per year (domestic); top offers can reach INR 70 lakh.

• Divisions based on sectors:

(i) 35% in consulting

(ii)  25–30% goes to banking and finance.

The remaining components are general management, FMCG and operations.
