CAT 2025 which stands for the Common Admission Test will be organised for the test-takers in an online mode (CBT) in approximately 170 cities in India. This year over 370 exam centres are expected to be active. Test-takers who are appearing for the Common Admission Test (CAT) will be given a test centre close to the address provided in their application form. This is to ensure ease of travel and timely arrival of the test-takers on the day of the exam.

CAT Exam Centre

A CAT exam centre is a specially designated computer lab where the test-takers take the test under strict supervision from the conducting authority. These test centres are located in various cities and states and possess the capacity to handle a large number of test-takers efficiently. The address of the test centre will be mentioned on the test-takers CAT 2025 admit cards that they will be available few weeks before the exam day.

How Are CAT 2025 Test Centres Allotted to the Candidates?

While filling the CAT 2025 exam form the candidates get an option to choose their test centres. Upto five cities only candidates can choose their preferred cities in the order of their preference. The nearest test centre will be allotted to the test-taker on the basis of their availability by the organising committee. 

How To Select the City for Your CAT Exam 

  • Register for CAT 2025 by visiting the official iimcat.ac. website.

  • Create your own login ID and then log in with that ID to gain access the application form.

  • To select the preferred test city, click the choice.

  • Select upto five cities from the dropdown list.

  • Fill the rest of the form, pay the fee and submit.

Can You Switch the Location of Your CAT 2025 Exam? 

Typically, it is not possible to change exam centres after form submission. Nevertheless, for unusual and valid reasons, you can approach the exam helpdesk. The decision to approve is entirely with CAT authorities, so it's necessary to make your city preferences wisely during registration.

Do’s and Dont’t on the CAT 2025 Exam Day 

In order to ensure a hassle-free test day, candidates must adhere to these crucial guidelines:

What to Do:

  • Your CAT 2025 admit card should be brought in two printing copies.

  • A copy of your official government photo ID should be brought.

  • Be at least 90 minutes early to the testing site.

  • Using the reference number listed on the admit card, locate your exam location.

  • Only occupy the test centre that has been assigned to you.

What Not to Do:

  • Do not carry any electronic devices (mobile, smartwatch, calculator).

  • Avoid metal jewelry, jacket, cap or closed footwear.

  • Do not report late – gate closes 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam.

  • Do not quarrel or misbehave with staff or fellow candidates.

  • Do not use the keyboard while the test is being taken – your system may freeze.

FAQs

No, you cannot change the venue of your CAT exam after you have submitted your application and a centre has been allotted to you. Make a wise choice.

About two or three weeks before the exam, you may download your CAT admit card which will have your exact address of the CAT exam center.

Occasionally, the exam organising authority can allot you a centre in the nearest city if all of the available seats in the cities that you have chosen are filled.

At least ninety minutes before your exam time, you must report to your centre. Your admit card will have reporting times details.

No, there is no restriction on electronic devices like watches, calculators and cell phones. Just bring your ID, admission card and pen.
