Exam Day Guidelines for CAT 2025

On the day of the exam which is November 30, 2025 (to be announced) candidates must adhere to the given instructions strictly:

  • Bring two printed copies of your CAT 2025 admit card to the testing centre.

  • Before exam day, check your exam centre location using the Google Maps link provided in your e-admit card.

  • You cannot request a change of exam centre under any circumstances.

  • At the exam centre entrance, your IRIS (eye scan) and photo will be taken by the exam officials.

  • Your photo and signature must be visible on the admit card.

  • If the photo is not printed on the admit card paste a passport-size photo on it before going to the centre.

  • Carry two regular (ballpoint) pens and any required documents. No extra items (bags, electronics, papers etc.) are allowed inside.

  • A rough pad will be provided at the centre for calculations which must be returned after the exam with all pages intact.

  • Friends or family are not allowed inside the exam centre.

  • If you use a pacemaker, metal implant or any medical device bring the proper medical certificate with you.

  • After the exam ends you must submit the signed admit card and the rough pad to the invigilator.

For the purpose of verification, candidates are asked to carry their government photo ID proof to the test centre on the day of the CAT exam 2025. The government IDs for verification can be:

CAT 2025 Exam Dress Code Recommendations

On the day of the exam, candidates must adhere to the strict dress code rules established by the CAT exam testing authority. Some of these are given below: 

  • Footwear: Avoid wearing thick-soled shoes or footwear. Prefer simple slippers or flat sandals.

  • Clothing: Do not wear clothes with too many pockets. Two or three pockets are acceptable but they will be thoroughly checked.

  • Jewellery: Do not wear any jewellery or accessories like rings, earrings, bangles or chains.

  • Female Candidates must keep the following things in mind: 

    • Avoid applying mehendi (henna) or any kind of body art on your hands.

    • Wear light makeup if needed.

    • Dress modestly and avoid heavy or flashy outfits.

Items Restricted Inside the CAT Exam Room

Certain things are restricted inside the CAT exam hall. Candidates must not carry these things to the centre as it may have consequences: 

  • Cell phones

  • Smartwatches or fitness bands

  • Bluetooth devices or earphones

  • Cameras

  • Handbags or purses

  • Shades 

  • Jewellery or metallic accessories

  • Calculators or electronic gadgets

  • Food items or drinks
