A thorough foundation programme designed to acquaint students with NMIMS's academic culture, institutional values and dynamic learning environment followed the ceremony which signalled the start of an exciting journey for the incoming batch.
The inauguration began with a ceremonial Saraswati Vandana followed by the traditional lamp lighting and the NMIMS anthem.

Views of Dr. Jusin Paul

 In his welcome address Dr. Justin Paul, Provost of Management Education at NMIMS and Dean of the School of Business Management set the tone for the program. Senior SBM leadership also spoke to the students including Dr. Chandrima Sikdar (Vice Dean for Programmes and Student Learning Experience), Dr. Veena Vohra (Vice Dean for Accreditation, Ranking, Industry and Alumni) and Dr. Mayank Joshipura (Vice Dean for Research and Ph.D. Programme).

The opinions of Ms. Preeti Parameshwaran

The Chief Guest, Ms. Preeti Parameshwaran, Managing Director of Barclays India and a notable SBM alumna gave an energising speech that enhanced the ceremony even more. Ms. Parameshwaran inspired students to "think globally, step out of your comfort zones and build your dream destinations and designations" by sharing her professional experiences and insights. Success is based on constant improvement, accepting different viewpoints and creating networks that influence not only careers but also the future of society much like the Japanese Kaizen philosophy.

Chairpersons of Program additionally speaking to the group were Prof. Papiya De (MBA), Dr. Hema Bajaj (MBA HR) and Dr. Hari Iyer (MBA Pharmaceutical Management) who provided academic advice and outlined the goals for their respective programmes.

Following the inauguration, students started the Foundation Programme, a meticulously organised series of seminars, panel discussions and preparatory modules in topics like finance, marketing and data analytics. Students also took part in: 

● Career advisor consultations 

● Faculty and campus orientation 

● Workshops on emotional resilience and mindfulness 

● The programme will end with a Mumbai Darshan which will give students an opportunity to explore the energetic city and form deep bonds with their peers.
