This program is meant for experienced employees, officers and experts who want to continue their jobs while earning a PhD. It allows them to use both academic knowledge and real work experience to do meaningful research.
The Executive PhD has a flexible format with classroom sessions, online classes, assignments and guided self-study. This setup helps busy professionals manage both work and studies. The program will also bring in mentors from universities and industries so that students can learn from both sides.
SAU aims to become a strong centre for research in South Asia. The program welcomes people from many fields such as science, economics, international relations, sociology, law, media, arts, climate studies and management.
The first batch includes people from civil services, global organisations, diplomatic missions, media, universities and creative fields. Some are UN officials, SAARC diplomats, senior editors and award-winning artists. This shows that the program is attracting talented and experienced professionals.
SAU President Prof K K Aggarwal said the program shows the university’s commitment to joining professional experience with academic learning. He said it gives experts a chance to create new knowledge and help their organisations with research abased insights.
