The ceremony commenced the thrilling journey of the new batch, followed by a rigorous foundation program for introducing students to NMIMS' academic environment, institutional values and lively learning culture.

The ceremony was initiated by a ceremonial Saraswati Vandana, followed by the inaugural lighting of the lamp and the NMIMS Anthem. Dr Justin Paul, Dean of the School of Business Management and Provost of Management Education at NMIMS, delivered the welcome speech, setting the tone for the event. Some of the SBM senior executives present among the students included Dr. Chandrima Sikdar (Vice Dean - Programs and Student Learning Experience), Dr. Veena Vohra (Vice Dean - Accreditation, Ranking, Industry and Alumni) and Dr. Mayank Joshipura (Vice Dean - Research and Ph.D Program). Ms Preeti Parameshwaran, Managing Director, Barclays India and an accomplished SBM alumnus, was the Chief Guest and gave an inspirational speech at the ceremony.

Ms Parameshwaran laid out her career perceptions and encouraged students to push themselves, think internationally and seek their dream places and titles. Success, such as the Japanese Kaizen technique, relies on continuous improvement, accepting several ideas and building networks that influence not just professions but also the fate of society.

Prof. Papiya De (MBA), Dr. Hema Bajaj (MBA HR), and Dr. Hari Iyer (MBA Pharmaceutical Management) all spoke to the audience, providing academic advise and outlining the goal for their respective programs.

After the inauguration, students started the Foundation Program, which involved a well-established series of lectures, panel discussions and preparation modules on finance, marketing and data analytics. Students also underwent:

• career guidance 

• orientation/campus-faculty contacts

A Mumbai Darshan will round off the program, where students can experience the vibrant city      life and Create genuine connections with peers.
