Mr Prathap Das, Regional Head – South Asia, AACSB, Makes a strategic visit to IIM Jammu, Moving the Institution closer to AACSB Accreditation
Dr B.S. Sahay, Director at IIM Jammu, welcomed and congratulated Mr Prathap Das on this day in a formal gesture. Symbolically, Mr Das presented an official AACSB Kit to Prof. Sahay, marking the beginning of an academic journey of rigorousness, quality enhancement and alignment at the international level.
Professor B.S. Sahay facilitated an exhaustive discussion involving core faculty members and administration staff. The topics covered important aspects of the Initial Self-Evaluation Report (iSER), alignment with AACSB's 2020 Business Accreditation Standards, Progress Reports, PRT visit expectations, and what role continuous improvement processes play in the development of institutional excellence.
Prof Keryn Chalmers of Monash University and IIM Jammu offered strategic vision and benchmark guidelines. Prof. Chalmers' mentorship has played a pivotal role in advancing the institute's accreditation process. Her sage counsel and timely offer to work with the Institute's mission have been instrumental to IIM Jammu's AACSB certification goals. The initiative involved a virtual session with Ms Liyen Chen, Accreditation Manager (Singapore) at AACSB who spoke about documentation, reporting systems and key quality assurance procedures needed to move forward in the accreditation process.

After the discussions Mr Prathap Das was shown around the IIM Jammu campus in detail, which reflected the Institute's robust academic setup, IT-enabled state-of-the-art classrooms, contemporary library and research facilities and student-focused learning environment in totality. The visit gave a firsthand evaluation of IIM Jammu's academic preparedness and institutional quality as per AACSB standards.
This collaboration is a significant milestone in the growing academic agenda of IIM Jammu, reflecting the institution's commitment to pedagogic innovation, internationalisation, research quality and ongoing quality enhancement.
