K J Somaiya Institute of Management and Jio Creative Labs Welcomes Inaugural Batch of an MBA in Marketing Communications

Jio Creative Labs and K J Somaiya Institute of Management have teamed together to welcome the inaugural batch of a two-year MBA program in Marketing Communications to the 2025–2027 class. The program is designed to combine foundational management courses with specialised marketing and communications subjects. Core subjects are Integrated Marketing Communication and Consumer Behaviour whereas advanced modules are Brand Storytelling, Generative AI, Influencer Marketing, Customer Experience Design, Immersive Technologies, Celebrity and Reputation Management and Luxury Brand Marketing.

In their last year, they will do a capstone project that showcases their skills in applying strategic thinking to creative execution. Every student is also assured of getting a summer internship at Jio Creative Labs where they will be involved in real-time projects and work on actual campaign briefs from the beginning of the program.

Dr Raman Ramachandran who is the Director and Dean of KJSIM highlighted that this program is unique in India focusing on work-integrated learning. By the end of the two years students will gain not only academic knowledge but also a clear understanding of how the industry functions. The program represents a collaboration between two institutions known for their legacy of innovation and education aiming to bring academia and industry closer and ensure students graduate fully work-ready.

Aditya Bhat the Head of Jio Creative Labs further stated that the first cohort will be presented with a unique chance to link classroom study with actual projects. He re-iterated that learning is constantly ongoing, one must adapt and get practical experience in an ever evolving scenario particularly with the advent of AI. He pointed out that degrees now are not enough knowledge, flexibility and an attitude for continuous learning will characterise future professionals.

This MBA program provides an equidistant combination of academic strength, practical exposure and industry interaction that prepares students for leadership positions in marketing communications and related disciplines.
