The two organisations will collaborate for the design, development and delivery of customised capacity-building and title-granting management programmes for defence officers in a hybrid delivery mode involving officers of HAL and other defence PSUs. The two organisations will also collaborate for the preparation of defence sector case studies for academic purposes and other joint initiatives/projects as mutually decided.
"With this MOU, IIM Visakhapatnam further consolidates its commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat and this builds precisely on its ongoing engagement through its Indian defence officers' MBA program, Prof. M Chandrasekhar, Director-IIMV, said.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by the institute’s director, with signatures from HMA Executive Director Arup Kumar Mallick and IIM Visakhapatnam Dean of Academics Prof. Vijaya Bhaskar Marisetty.
IIM Visakhapatnam has launched a first-of-its-kind modular MBA program specifically for defence officers. This project, approved by the Ministry of Defence Department of Defence Production, has managed to enlist about 40 officers from ten DPSUs, the Naval Armament Depot in Mumbai and Geomarine Dynamics India Pvt Ltd.
Aspects covered under the curriculum include immersion programs at the HAL Management Academy, BEL Academy of Excellence in Bengaluru and National Academy of Defence Production in Nagpur, along with international immersion at ESCP Business School in France.
