IIM Jammu Holds Workshop to Enhance J&K Governance

The program drew 50 participants ranging from policymakers and administrators to regional specialists. The workshop aimed to consolidate institutional roles and responsibilities in the achievement of J&K State Missions, support strategic planning and facilitate evidence based governance in accordance with national frameworks like Vision@2047 and Niti Aayog's State Support Missions. Entrepreneurship and livelihoods, tourism, data analytics and information technology, agriculture, infrastructure development, human resource development, social protection and environmental management were the main areas of focus.
BS Sahay, Director at IIM Jammu noted that Governance is something that they all have to take care of and if people respect the system, the system will respect people. He would urge all participants to work towards this objective, push the state's development and strive to enhance GDP and per capita income.
Jabir Ali Dean of Faculty and Research at IIM Jammu highlighted innovation, evidence based planning and inter institutional collaboration in improving governance, observing that participants would be empowered to implement long term and substantial solutions.
The agenda for the day involved thematic seminars in agriculture and related sectors, tourism development, information technology, data analysis, monitoring and evaluation. The two day workshop aims to generate practical strategic frameworks and SIT operations roadmaps as well as institutional coordination and capacity-building improvement recommendations across priority sectors.
