IIM Ahmedabad Welcomes 2025–27 PGP and PGP-FABM Batch with 460 Students

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has formally welcomed the 2025–27 batch of its core Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Management and PGP in Food and Agribusiness Management (PGP-FABM). The number of students is 460 out of which 414 are in the PGP and 46 are in the PGP-FABM program.

Diverse and Skilled PGP 2025–27 Batch

The 62nd PGP batch consists of students with diverse academic and professional backgrounds. Approximately 50% of the students belong to an engineering background while the remaining students belong to commerce, liberal arts, chartered accountancy etc. The batch is gender-diverse as well with 30.6% female students.

Students have on average 25 months of work experience, although 27% are freshers. The students in the PGP and PGP-FABM courses have an average age of 23 years.

PGP-FABM Experiences Strong Female Presence

Batch 26 of PGP-FABM comprises 46 students with 45.65% female representation. All the students of this program are from an agricultural or allied sciences background. The mean work experience in this batch is 20 months and 40% of the batch possesses prior work experience.

Words of Encouragement from IIMA Leaders

At the orientation ceremony, IIMA Director Prof. Bharat Bhasker greeted the incoming batch and spoke about the institute's 60-year track record of creating leaders. He spoke of the role of peer learning and asked the students to learn to cooperate with each other saying that IIMA not only creates future leaders but also builds the learning culture that makes this possible.

Prof. Bhasker also explained that these students are part of a privileged few who are selected from lakhs of aspirants getting into one of the leading management programs in India and the world.

Emphasise Real-World Decision-Making and Learning

Prof. Diptesh Ghosh, Dean of programs urged the students to utilise their academic experience to the fullest. He reminded them that IIMA's motto "Development through the application of knowledge" shows its emphasis on practical education. With case-based learning the students will learn to address business issues in real life and make sound decisions which is the core of IIMA's pedagogy.

The inclusion of students with diverse disciplines and professional experiences including differently-abled students which serves to further IIMA's cause of diversity, inclusion and academic quality. With the latest batch, IIM Ahmedabad continues its tradition of grooming future business leaders equipped to make a global difference.
