The Indira Gandhi National Open University has opened its registration process for admissions in Jan 2026 in its Open and Distance Learning Courses. The candidates who are eligible are able to submit their online registrations at the official website ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

IGNOU January Admission 2026 - Registration Open for ODL Courses Till 31 January

As per the official dates the last day to fill the IGNOU Jan application form is 31 Jan. The candidates are advised to have APAAR ID at hand before beginning the registration process.

To seek admission in IGNOU for January 2026 the students have to create a DEB ID as the submission of the application form is incomplete without this ID. This criterion has been specified in the notification published by the university.

While filling up the form applicants are supposed to upload their scanned photo and scanned signature each not exceeding 100 KB. Apart from this, applicants are expected to upload scans of their educational qualifications, work experience certificate in case of applicable experience and category certificates like SC, ST or OBC if necessary.

Steps to Apply for IGNOU January Admission 2026

The candidates interested should follow these steps to apply for admission to January 2026 -

  • The official website is ignouadmission.samarth.edu 

  • Just click on the "New Registration" option and then fill out the IGNOU 2026 application form.

  • Upload all necessary documents in the given format and size

  • pays the nonrefundable IGNOU Admission Fee

  • Submit the form. Take a printout for future use

If the applicant subsequently asks for a cancellation after the acceptance of admission a penalty of 15 percent of the course fee or a maximum of ₹2000 will be deducted. No refund of the fee is to be made after 60 days of admission.

IGNOU provides admission in various Open Distance Learning courses like BBA, MBA and PhD programs. Admission in these courses is made on the basis of performance in the entrance test.

Eligible students admitted to the university can now submit applications for the Government of India Scholarship Scheme from the National Scholarship Portal.
