  • Age -The minimum age requirement for candidates is eighteen years of age. Persons aged between 13 and 17 years can appear for the test only with the written approval of their parent or guardian.

  • Work Experience - Sitting for the GMAT test is not necessary with work experience although a majority of business schools desire candidates with work experience.

Validity of GMAT Results

The GMAT scores are acceptable for five years after the test date. This provides the candidates with ample amount of time to make an application to various business schools without rushing into it. For instance the score achieved in August 2025 will remain valid for use up to August 2030. As soon as five years are complete the score becomes ineffective and shall no longer be considered. Therefore the candidate would need to retake the exam as necessary by the business school.

GMAT scores are accepted across the globe including foreign nationals, NRIs and Persons of Indian Origin. In India, prestigious business schools like as ISB, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, IIM Bangalore and several more accept the scores for one-year MBA programs or its equivalents.  Top MBA colleges in the nation also accept GMAT scores for their two-year flagship program for Indian candidates.
