XLRI Jamshedpur History

Fr Quinn Enright, S.J., established XLRI in 1949 in the Steel City, Jamshedpur. Fr Enright dreamed of XLRI being a partner in India's path of emancipation and development towards renewing the face of the earth. Fr Bill Tome joined him to make it happen. Together, along with the other Jesuit colleagues, they laboured day and night to implement the vision "Renewing the Face of the Earth.

XLRI Jamshedpur provides a variety of management programs, including the flagship PGDM in Business Management (BM) and Human Resource Management (HRM). These two-year, full-time residential programs are designed to prepare students for leadership positions in the business and human resources sectors. Other programs offered include the General Management Program (GMP) for working professionals, the Executive PGDM and the Fellow Program in Management (FPM) for research.

The two-year PGDM (BM/HRM) program costs from ₹23 to ₹27 lakhs, which includes tuition, dormitory and other costs. The fees may change somewhat from year to year and depend on the type of housing chosen. Despite the high cost, XLRI has great placement outcomes, making it a worthwhile investment for many students.

XLRI Jamshedpur Scholarships for 2025

XLRI Jamshedpur provides different scholarships for 2025 for deserving and high-scoring students.  These are merit-based, need-based and category-based scholarships offered by the institute and other organisations. The Aditya Birla Scholarship, bestowed upon high-achieving first-year students; the OP Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarship, bestowed for leadership and scholarship and the Tata Merit Scholarship, presented to the top ten rank holders in PGDM programs, are some of the most coveted scholarships. The Pirojsha Godrej Scholarship and Kalyan Ganguly Scholarship support those who excel academically and cover financial requirements. XLRI Jamshedpur 2025 XAT Exam Cut-Off

XAT 2025 exam scores are necessary for admission into XLRI Jamshedpur's top-notch management courses. The approximate cut-off for the PGDM-Business Management (BM) course is around the 91+ percentile for male engineering candidates and lower for others.  Likewise, the PGDM-Human Resource Management (HRM) course cut-off is likely to range between 91+ percentile, subject to the student's academic profile and gender. But for some courses, like the Executive PGDM or Fellow Programs, XAT cut-offs might not be explicitly mentioned or even applicable, as these courses often assess against criteria other than test scores.

Admission

For working executives, XLRI Jamshedpur provides part-time and full-time management programs as well as Virtual Interactive Learning (VIL) courses. The institute also provides a PhD-level full-time, residential Fellow Program in Management (FPM). The institute also uses XLRI Online Learning (XOL) to provide a few courses online. To gain admission to XLRI Jamshedpur, aspirants first need to clear the XAT.

Admission Procedure for the Post-Graduate Programme in Human Resource Management (PGDM-HRM), Business Management (PGBS), and General Management (PGDGM)

Applications for XLRI can be filled out online via GMAT/XAT. Applications for more than one program can be submitted simultaneously. 

XLRI's admissions procedure consists of the application process, GD/PI shortlisting of applicants and the release of the final list and cut-off. Steps for fill out the application form:

Step 1: Applicants should first complete the application form on the organization's official website (xlri.ac.in).

Step 2: To be eligible for admission to XLRI in 2025, the candidates need to undergo the application process and then appear for the XAT entrance examination. This entrance cutoff list will be published by XLRI immediately after the declaration of the XAT results. After qualifying for the XAT cutoff, candidates can go for the XLRI course PI round of the admission procedure.

Step 3: XLRI makes a shortlist of applicants for GD and PI. Based on the information given in the application form and the results of the XAT, XLRI will choose a shortlist of applicants for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds. The final list is prepared by the institute by considering parameters such as acceptable work experience, academic background, and extracurricular activities, along with XAT results and the screening of candidates.

Step 4: XLRI will announce the students on the merit list for final admission, taking into consideration their performance on the GD and PI exams as well as other elements like their academic background and work experience.
